Description: The SoMAC CRC’s vision is to place Australia as a first choice for rapid prototyping, enabling decentralised composites production capacity and building sovereign independence. Its mission is to enable composites R&D to meet Australia’s national self-sufficiency priorities, servicing the rising demand for just-in-time localised composites innovations, automation and digitization. The incubation formula for The SoMAC CRC draws on international best practice, to maximise value added benefits to Australia’s diverse supply chains. Demand for the benefits of composites technologies is ramping up across a broad range of cross-sector industry applications.

Industry led, Upscaling AMAC*, already achieving a track-record in up-skilling the next generation of technologists, AMAC has successfully seeded R&D collaborations in each of the nominated vertical segments. The SoMAC CRC is set to nationally up-scale AMAC’s existing working ecosystem of industry innovators, operating model, overnance, expertise and infrastructure, along with tapping into AMAC’s successful higher education up-skilling stimulus.
